We’re setting up an academy in Warsaw where young goalkeepers will train regularly, all year round. Wojciech Kowalewski is in charge, and coaches from Masovia make up the rest of the staff.

The first step is a short application form. Everyone who fills it in can take part in the second stage of recruitment, which we’re planning for January 2027.

We’ll announce the venue, age groups and training times once they’re confirmed.

About the Academy

The Polish goalkeeper made his debut in the Bulgarian league, coming on in the 41st minute for the injured Georgi Kitanov. Within a quarter of an hour of the restart he saved a spot kick, and Dunav fought back to win 3⁠-⁠2.

In the opener on 25 September, Poland drew 0⁠-⁠0 with Bosnia and Herzegovina at the PGE Narodowy. Bułka saved from Alajbegović, and the visitors had a goal ruled out because Tabaković had fouled our keeper.

Then came a 3⁠-⁠1 defeat in Sweden and a clean sheet in a 6⁠-⁠0 win over Romania. In the reverse fixture against Bosnia, a penalty in the 84th minute settled it and Poland lost 1⁠-⁠0.

The injury happened in training on 19 September. The diagnosis was a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Dr Andrzej Pyda performed the operation in Konin on 23 September, and Juventus described it as a complete success. The experienced Neto will take his place in the Juventus goal.

The Polish FA (PZPN) named the squad on 18 September. In goal, head coach Jan Urban went with Marcin Bułka of NEOM SC, Kamil Grabara of Juventus and Mateusz Kochalski of Wieczysta Kraków.

After Grabara’s injury, Bartłomiej Drągowski of Widzew Łódź joined the squad on 21 September.

In September the NEOM SC keeper played three games and won them all, keeping two clean sheets. They included a 2⁠-⁠0 win away at Al Hilal.

In the 77th minute Kulenović hit a weak shot, but the ball squirmed out of Łukasz Skorupski’s hands and rolled into the net.

The Pole made his Juventus debut in the league phase of the Europa League. He kept NEC out, and in the 9th minute his long pass opened the way for Nico González to score.

The goalkeeper arrives in Kraków from Qarabağ, where he won the Azerbaijani title and played in the Champions League. The fee was not disclosed.

Stadion Śląski in Chorzów celebrated its 70th birthday with a game between legends of Poland and England. Poland won 4⁠-⁠2 with goals from Makuszewski, Góralski, Peszko and Frankowski, while Wright⁠-⁠Phillips and Heskey were on target for England.

Artur Boruc and Maciej Szczęsny played in the Polish goal. At the other end were David James and Joe Hart, so four former internationals kept goal that day.

Before the game, the stadium honoured Górski’s Eagles, among them Jan Tomaszewski, the hero of Wembley in 1973.

The second edition of the Match of the Stars brought footballers and famous faces from Poland and France to Widzew’s stadium. Poland won 2⁠-⁠1, with Łukasz in goal for our side.

The organisers laid on an official farewell for him to mark the end of his career.

Bartosz Mrozek is moving from Lech Poznań to Udinese for €1.5 million plus a small bonus. His contract runs until 2030.

He won the Polish title with Lech in 2024/2025 and 2025/2026.

Reports put the option to buy at €11.5 million, but the club has not confirmed the figure. Juventus are the first Italian club of Grabara’s career. He has previously played in England, Denmark and Germany.

Łukasz announced his retirement on 25 July. He played for Legia Warszawa, Arsenal, Swansea City and West Ham. He won the FA Cup with Arsenal and the Europa Conference League with West Ham.

He won 57 caps for Poland and went to five major tournaments. At Euro 2016 he was in goal from the second game all the way to the quarter-final against Portugal.

“From today my mission is to give back to football what it gave me,” he wrote. He is staying with us: on the pitch, at the camps and at the Academy.

From 28 June to 4 July we trained at WR Sport in Świlcza, near Rzeszów. Girls and boys came along, younger and older alike, and the federation’s coaches worked with each of them individually.

Thank you to the parents for their trust, and to WR Sport for their hospitality. It was our second camp, and it certainly won’t be the last.

From today until 4 July, young goalkeepers are training at the WR Sport complex in Świlcza, near Rzeszów, on professional pitches and with the federation’s coaches.

On the programme: handling and saving technique, reflexes and reaction speed, positioning and reading the game, commanding the goalmouth, working with defenders, mental training and analysis of match situations.

We’re returning to where we started in February: WR Sport in Świlcza, with its indoor WRS Arena and full facilities.

Young goalkeepers, boys and girls, are all welcome. As in the winter, the federation’s coaches will train with them, and Artur, Łukasz and Wojtek will be out on the pitch.

The first GoalKeepers Camp took place from 15 to 21 February at WR Sport in Świlcza, near Rzeszów. Goalkeepers aged 8 to 17 came along, and they worked with Artur Boruc, Łukasz Fabiański and Wojciech Kowalewski.

Łukasz admitted that when they first met the boys, it was the coaches who felt a little shy. Wojtek says plainly that he is the firmest of the three, while Artur and Łukasz find it easier to break the ice.

Announcing the camp in December, Wojtek said that camps were the first stage. We’re sticking to that plan.
