About us

Goalkeepers Federation is a new federation for goalkeepers. It is the brainchild of Artur Boruc, Łukasz Fabiański and Wojciech Kowalewski. All three are former Poland internationals who set out to spread the Polish school of goalkeeping.

Where we come from

No one on the pitch is as alone as the goalkeeper, especially when the ball is flying into the top corner. Artur, Łukasz and Wojtek went all the way from youth football to the national team, and they know how much a young keeper needs people who understand that.

In December 2025 we announced our first camp. In February and June 2026, young goalkeepers from all over Poland came to WR Sport near Rzeszów. Now we’re off to Spain and opening an academy in Warsaw.

We’re a young organisation. Our story is only just beginning, and we want to tell it together with you.

  • CampsTwo took place in Poland, in February and June 2026. Two more are coming up in Spain in February 2027.
  • AcademyWe’re opening our own home in Warsaw for young players.
  • KnowledgeWe share fascinating stories of Polish goalkeepers. And we’re building a glossary of the language spoken in goal.
  • EntertainmentWe’re working on a TV series about our keepers and a show in the Goalkeeper Battles format.

And this is only the beginning

On the lynx’s trail

A sketch of a lynx turns into the Goalkeepers Federation emblem

Our emblem is the lynx

Why?

Because the lynx hunts the way a keeper saves

The lynx stays silent, watches and waits.

Then, in a split second, it’s ready to pounce.

The lynx is a local

The Eurasian Lynx lynx lives in the Carpathians and in the forests of eastern Poland.

And lately it has been making a comeback in Pomerania too.

We want to support the protection and growth of the species in Poland

Eyes

It hunts by sight, at dusk and at night, often from a vantage point.

A keeper reads the shot before it’s taken.

Hearing

It hears before it sees. The black tufts on its ears are its trademark.

A keeper stands behind the defence and talks it into position.

Paws

Broad and furry, steady on any ground, even on snow.

A keeper builds every save from the feet up.

Ambush

It doesn’t chase its prey across half the forest. It waits and picks its moment.

A keeper doesn’t chase the ball either. A keeper comes for it.

Leap

It strikes from ambush in a flash, in one short burst. If it misses, it usually gives up the chase.

The goal is 7.32 metres wide. You shut it in one move.

Territory

It guards a patch of forest covering tens or even hundreds of square kilometres.

A keeper gets the penalty area, 40.32 by 16.5 metres, and defends it alone.

The lynx in Poland

  • 2populations in Poland: Carpathian lynx in the Bieszczady and the Beskids, and lowland lynx in the Białowieża, Augustów, Knyszyn and Borecka forests
  • 200 to 370lynx were living in Poland at the turn of 2023 and 2024, according to estimates
  • 30+years under strict species protection
  • 60+lynx have returned to the forests of western Poland since 2019, thanks to the West Pomeranian Nature Society
